I qualified as an SLT in 1998 and have developed my skills since that time. During my last job within the NHS I worked as the Clinical Lead for Neurodisability and gained extensive experience within this field as well as studying for a MSc in Rehabilitation. I am now offering an independent SLT service for people in the Surrey Hills and the surrounding area. I have extensive experience of working with both adults and children and I have specialised in Adult Neurology. I have a particular interest in Parkinsons Disease and am Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT®️) trained and registered. Please contact me if you would like to hear more.

What is LSVT LOUD?

I am pleased to to introduce Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT) Loud®️.
LSVT LOUD™ is an effective speech treatment for individuals with Parkinson disease (PD) and other neurological conditions.
LSVT LOUD®️is evidenced based and has over 25 years of research to support its effectiveness in the treatment of communication issues associated with Parkinson’s Disease (PD). LSVT is clinically-proven to improve individuals voice and speech. I am fully trained and registered in the approach and am excited to be able to share it with you.
I am passionate about delivering the gold standard in speech and voice treatment to those with Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological conditions. I believe that the approach to this treatment offers just that. 

Who can benefit?
Parkinson’s is considered a disease of low “amplitude”. Everything becomes reduced from voice strength to speech clarity to facial expression. Those with PD may feel that they are no longer “being heard” or “paid attention to” as they lack the vocal power or animation in their speech and face to engage effectively with their communication partners. This can lead to social withdrawal and even depression.
LSVT is focused on a single goal “speak LOUD!” – the treatment improves respiratory, laryngeal and articulatory function to maximise speech intelligibility. The treatment does not train people to shout or yell but uses loudness training to bring the voice to an improved, healthy vocal loudness with no strain.
I am committed to helping people with PD reclaim their voice and their confidence in communicating effectively with others. The treatment not only simulates the motor system but also incorporates sensory awareness training to help individuals recognize that their voice may be too soft and making them comfortable with their new louder voice. Patients are trained to self-generate the adequate amount of loudness to make their speech understood.
Early intervention through speech therapy is the most effective way to treat progressive decline that can, over time, diminish your quality of life. Research on LSVT LOUD has documented improved impact on multiple levels of functioning in people with PD following treatment including:
- Increased vocal loudness
- Improved articulation and speech intelligibility
- Improved intonation
- Improvements in facial expression
- Changes in neural functioning related to voice and speech

LSVT LOUD treatment consists of:
1) 16 sessions: 4 consecutive days a week for 4 weeks
2) Individual 1 hour sessions
3) Daily homework practice
4) Daily carryover exercises

What do we charge?
We offer you a free initial discussion over the phone to discuss your needs.
LSVT Package £1500 inclusive
Travel costs are charged at £40 per hour and 45p per mile.
Attendance at Case Conferences, Multi-Disciplinary Meetings and other related discussions will be charged £80 per hour.
Additional requests, for reports, letters and/or phone calls will be charged per item.
